Box Template Maker: Free Gift Card Box and Treat Box Templates
Need a box in a size nobody sells? Enter the width, depth and height you want and this free box template maker draws a tuck-end box to fit, like a gift card box, treat box or favor box. Download it as an SVG for your Cricut or laser, or print it at full size. Cut lines and score lines come on separate layers.
These are the inside measurements. Measure what's going in the box and add about 1/8 inch so it slides in easily.
In Cricut Design Space, upload the SVG, change the pink dashed layer from Cut to Score, and Attach both layers. On a laser, set the dashed layer to a light score or engrave line.
Cardstock for your boxes
Small boxes like gift card boxes and favor boxes fold up nicely from my smooth cardstock. For a box that has to hold some weight, my 250 gsm shed-free glitter cardstock is the sturdier pick, and it makes the box sparkle without leaving glitter on your table.
How to assemble a tuck-end box
- Cut the template and fold along every score line.
- Put glue or double-sided tape on the narrow glue flap and stick it to the inside of the last side panel, so the box becomes a tube.
- At the bottom, fold in the two small dust flaps, then fold the big flap over them and tuck it in.
- Fill the box, fold in the top dust flaps, and tuck the lid closed.

How do I make a gift card box?
Pick the Gift card box preset (3 5/8 x 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches inside), download the SVG, cut it on your Cricut with the dashed layer set to Score, then glue the side flap and tuck the ends.
What size cardstock do I need for a box template?
The tool tells you whether your box fits on 8.5x11, 12x12, or needs a 12x24 mat. A gift card box fits on letter-size cardstock; a 2.5 inch ornament box needs a 12x12 sheet.
Do I measure the inside or outside of the box?
Enter the inside size. Measure the item that is going in the box and add about 1/8 inch to each measurement so it slides in without crushing the corners.
What cardstock is best for treat boxes?
Smooth cardstock works well for small, light boxes. For heavier treats or bigger boxes, choose a sturdier sheet like 250 gsm glitter cardstock.
Can I cut this box template on a laser?
Yes. The SVG imports at true size. Set the solid layer to cut and the dashed layer to a light score or line engrave.
